Overview
LED arrays are popular in the illuminant market. Applications for LED backlighting modules have drawn particular attention in recent years. An LED backlight system including an LED array and LED controller IC can replace a traditional cold cathode fluorescent lamp backlight. Because the brightness of LED arrays varies with ambient temperatures and operating time, NVM is required to record data on changes in brightness level for use in dynamically stabilizing these levels. In addition, compensations for deviations in LED controller IC properties caused by a process shift can use trimming parameters stored in NVM. eMemory provides complete solutions for these applications.

NeoBit OTP HD/GHD can resolve issues caused by deviations of brightness levels in LED arrays, which can vary with operating time and ambient temperature. By recording brightness parameters for the LED array at different temperatures and operating times in a look-up table (LUT) in NeoBit OTP HD/GHD , the system can then refer to this LUT data to adjust and stabilize the illuminant output of the array. Values for circuit properties can also be recorded in NeoBit OTP HR and NeoBit PMTP HR for trimming to achieve expected performance.
