Overview
LCD TVs are gradually replacing CRT-based models as the mainstream choice, while the HDMI interface has also become popular. When data is transmitted through HDMI, NVM is required to store the HDCP key used to complete HDCP-compliant secure transmission. NVM is also used to store information on the video formats supported by the HDMI receiver. Moreover, many circuit properties, like analog interface in a TFT LCD TV controller, should be measured and their values stored for trimming, another area where NVM finds application, allowing for fine-tuned performance.
NeoBit® TFT LCD TV Controller
The NeoBit OTP HR and NeoBit PMTP HR series are capable of storing built-in HDCP keys at either the IC production stage or system integration stage. In EDID applications, a built-in solution can serve as the EDID storage medium, as described by the HDMI specification. NeoBit HR can record the values of circuit properties. The relevant values include: ADC, DAC, PLL, Regulator, Current, and Voltage.
These values can be calibrated during the FT or system integration stage.
